Peroxide-Cured NSF 61 O-Rings
Peroxide cured EPDM compounds exhibit a greater resistance to heat and
chemicals as compared to EPDM compounds that are sulfur cured. Temperature
tolerance of up to 150 degrees Celsius or 300 degrees Fahrenheit can be
achieved with peroxide cured compounds. On the other hand, sulfur cured EPDM
compounds allows for service temperatures of not exceeding 120 degrees
Celsius. Peroxide curing for EPDM is undoubtedly the preferred option
servicing in extended temperature environments.
Other benefits of peroxide cured EPDM compounds include stability at higher temperatures, lower compression set and resistance to aging.
Benefits of peroxide-cured epdm:
1. Greater tolerance for high temperature applications. Outstanding heat ageing.
2. Improved ageing resistance.
3. Compression set is lower.
4. Ability to resist oils and chemicals is improved.
5. Better resistance to discoloration.
